Weekend in the Dells

Some of Thomas’ family got together in the Wisconsin Dells this weekend. It was so much fun to see everyone. It was especially nice that Vivianne got to spend some time with her Grandma! It was neat to have the girls together again. Pretty crazy to see how much they have grown already.

We took LOTS of pictures!

Vivianne Is Afraid of Strangers

Within the last week and a half, Vivianne has somehow developed a fear of strangers. It all started last week Tuesday when I brought her to the doctor. She was a basket case, I attributed her behavior to the pain still lingering from her ear infection and thought nothing of it. Then that Friday we drove to the Dells to meet up with Thomas’s family. As soon as they knocked on our hotel room door and came in, she started to cry and wouldn’t stop unless I was holding her…she eventually warmed up to everyone and was fine but it took some getting use to. Thomas and I were shocked because she hadn’t ever acted that way before, so we chalked it up to being in a new place and thought she may have just been overwhelmed with all the new faces. THEN, today, I was in the hallway of our condo building on my way out and had her in her stroller, two old ladies that also live in our building were chatting it up in the hallway and as we past by them they asked us to stop so they could see the baby. They began talking to her like old women do and instantly her cry face came out the waterworks were turned on again! She was completely fine again after we started back on our way. Little stinker…I am hoping this is just a “phase” and if so, that it passes quickly!

Happy 8 Months Old!

We brought Vivianne into the doctor today for an ear recheck basically to make sure her ear infection was gone and it was!! Yea! She weighs 18 pounds 7 ounces (50th percentile) and is 26.5 (25-50 percentile) inches long! Little bugger, the doctor said it didn’t look like she’s been skipping any meals:) That’s our girl!

UPDATE:
She’s been trying to crawl, but ends up scooting backwards instead and gets more and more frustrated as she gets farther and farther away from the object she is trying to get.

Lately she is really into the word “Boo”. She will laugh almost every time you say, especially if you get real close to her face and say it. She’s a little nutty (gets that from her Dad).

She’s cut her bottom two teeth and is probably working on others that I am not aware of and is really into food more so than she was…still wants a bottle a couple of times a day, but looks forward to her baby food now too.

Her favorite things are playing/chewing on her bunny (she loves this thing), taking a bath (this hasn’t changed) and jumping in her jumperoo…and yes, she actually jumps now. I will have to take a video of her in it, it is so funny.

All-in-all, she’s a pretty happy baby and we thank our lucky stars for that!

Big Smile

Vivianne's Daycare Christmas Program

Tonight was Vivianne’s Christmas program. It was so good. Her group (the infants) were suppose to dress in white outfits, as they were going to be angels. Basically, their teacher’s and teacher’s helpers carried them out on stage and the kiddos made noise. I was a little nervous for Vivianne…I thought for sure she would cry and as you will see in the video, she just about did at the very beginning when her teacher set her down on her butt, but then she was picked up and was fine…she sort of just stared at everyone, I think she was wondering what in the heck was going on:-)

So without further adieu, here is our little angel…

Christmas 2007

Christmas Eve 2007

Vivianne made out like a bandit this year! I am pretty sure she enjoyed every second of Christmas. She got a lot of extra lovin’ from her Auntie Jess and her grandparents! We all enjoyed our time in Arizona…we forgot how beautiful it is this time of year…or really all year round for that matter—Vivianne was taken on quite a few stroller rides;)

We saw the musical, A Christmas Carol, which was phenomenal. (Vivianne did pretty well, she managed to sleep through most of it). We also took in the Phoenix Zoolights which were pretty amazing. One day, we drove down to Tucson, our ol’ stomp and visited some good friends.
I kicked some butt in the board game, “Are you Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” (Do you know what the chemical symbol Au stands for? I do, thank you, Mr. B!) For those of you who have never played that game, it is surprisingly difficult. We laughed so hard at some of the answers we came up with and at the meer fact that we were so intimidated by the third grade English questions! I highly recommend this game to any game-lovers out there.

We spent a lot of time hanging out and eating. As usual my self-control was non-existent and I probably gained at minimum five pounds thanks to Izzy’s yummy cookies!

The holiday would have been perfect if my brother could have been there, we sure missed him!

Here are a TON of photos from the trip!
