Vivianne's 1st Day at Daycare!
Today was Vivianne’s first day at daycare. We enrolled her part-time at the Children’s Center in Lake Forest. There are eight infants including her in her room, five girls and three boys, and they are all around the same age.
Last night, I kept tossing and turning, I couldn’t sleep because I was so nervous for her. I just wanted her to like it and to not cry! Well, not one tear was shed by little Miss Vivianne, now her mama on the other hand that’s a different story.
The daycare called me at work to give me an update on how she was doing. I think they sensed my nervousness when we dropped her off and probably thought they’d better call me to let me know how she was doing (which I LOVED). They told me she was doing just fine and had just gotten done taking a NAP!
What? I said. A nap…my daughter? (Don’t get me worng, Vivianne is an excellent sleeper, she sleeps about 11-12 hours at night straight through…but she doesn’t really like to lay down during the day, she tends to fight it when she’s tired)
Anyways, the phone call put my mind and heart at ease and when I went to pick her up, I found her sleeping AGAIN! This time I come to find out, she had just fallen asleep about 10 minutes before I had arrived, but still, two naps all within 4 hours…impressive. The teachers said she didn’t cry once! They said she played in the exersaucer and had fun with the other kids. It was the best news! I am so proud of her.

Vivianne Rolling Over
Here’s a video of Vivianne rolling over from tummy to back. As you can tell she doesn’t like to be on that tummy for very long…she’s learned how to roll back pretty quickly:)
Somebody caught a cold...
Vivianne hasn’t been feeling well. She’s got a bad cold. She’s been fussy and needy ever since Thursday evening. Her nose is running like a leaking faucet. She is so stuffed up that it is hard for her to breath and suck on her pacifier at the same time, so night time has been a bear. She’s been up the past two nights in a row. We are hoping she feels better soon…we had forgotten what it is like waking up in the middle of the night. We hope she starts eating more soon, since she’s been sick she’s eaten about half of what she normally does. Poor baby!

6 Month Appointment
Vivianne had her 6 month appointment last week. She weighs 15 pounds, 13 ounces and is 25 1/2 inches long! She is growing like a weed:)
She had her first real taste of baby food today! She tried squash and ate half of the container…so we think she liked it:) She wasn’t doing well on the rice cereal, so we switched her to oatmeal, she seems to do better with that but still prefers the bottle over everything!
No teeth to report yet. Although she’s a drool bug and is constantly wanting to chew on everything.
I love my bottle...
We started trying to feed Vivianne baby food last Sunday. She ate almost half of the squash container that day, but since then, she barely will take a spoon full. Tonight I tried feeding her sweet peas…same thing, maybe a bite..most of which got all over her…reason why she’s naked. I think she’s going to be a picky eater…wonder who she gets that from? Ha!
I welcome any suggestions on how to get her to EAT food!
Pumpkin Patch
We took Vivianne to the pumpkin patch today to pick out her first pumpkin. The weather was perfect…parking was not so perfect…luckily we found a secret way out when it was time to leave…not sure if it was exactly legal, but we busted out of there lickedy-split!
