Went back to North Dakota last week/weekend to visit a friend of mine (Joe) that was back from Iraq for about 15 days to be around during the birth of his second baby.
The trip was great. I got to spend lots of time with my buddy & his family and my dad & his wife came down for a couple of days also…which was awesome…and a few old buddies from back home stopped by to see Joe so I got to chat and have a beer with them to catch up on what’s been going on in their lives.
The break from work was also a very good thing…necessary to say the least. The only thing that would have made the trip better would have been if my wife could have been their too.
As I sit here in the Bismarck airport, I realize how much I appreciate not having to travel every week for my job. One thing I do have to say is that the new airport in Bismarck is pretty nice. Not extremely large, but it is nice looking and has free internet…which is HUGE bonus points for nerds like me…
