Condo Pictures
Here are some pictures of what our condo has looked like over the last 2 months or so…it is still in pretty rough shape, but we are close to getting the kitchen cabinets up….which will be a huge step for us. The pictures are nearly as thorough as they should be…but you will hopefully get the idea. I will try to get more posted as improvements occur.
Bitter Sweet
Sweet…not having to be skinny by Thanksgiving.
Bitter…your dream vacation to a tropical resort being canceled because of one of the worst natural disasters in Cancun, Mexico’s history.
Sweet…hiring people to finish the renovation to your house that you know you would have screwed up.
Bitter…paying to hire people to finish the renovation to your house that you know you would have screwed up.
Busy Bees
This is for those of you who are interested in what’s been going on in our lives…
Lately Thomas and I have had pretty crazy schedules and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be letting up any time soon.
We’ve been living in our new place for about 3 months now and it has been pretty much a full-blown construction site since. We have replaced the flooring, painted, changed the outlets, knocked out a wall, and are in the process of having someone install our new kitchen cabinets for us. We are anxious for the place to be done, to say the least.
Work is keeping us both busy. In November, CMSS (where I work) holds their annual conference in Chicago, which my boss and I are responsible for coordinating. The next few weeks leading up to the conference will be stressful as we will need to finalize the details of that event.
Thomas will be flying to Copenhagen, Denmark the 2nd weekend in November for work. He is looking forward to the trip, but not the fact that he will be gone for 2 weeks without me :-(
Over Thanksgiving we had planned to go on our belated Honeymoon, but because of the hurricane it was cancelled (See “Bitter Sweet”). Although we were bummed about this, we are kind of looking forward to having some time off together. We considered visiting family and friends over the holiday, but have decided to just stay home and enjoy our new place (hopefully it will be finished by then).
The first week in December, Thomas is going to Atlanta, Georgia for a class on computer stuff. I plan on meeting him there the weekend it ends so we can check out A-town!
Over the Christmas holiday we are heading to MN to visit the Kersten family. The Grosgee’s will be spending the new year in Chi-town (notice how down I am with the city abbrevations).
Post a comment or drop us an email to let us know what your plans are, if time and location permits, we would love to get together with any of you.
